Hi all,
I have just started my business where I offered marketing services working remotely as I travel the world.
website: http://www.workingaswego.com
I have been travelling for over 40 days and I would like to know your opinion on my website.
1. It is easy and clear to understand what we offer?
2. Looking at the homepage, what other pages attracted your attention?
3. Would you consider following our blog posts?
4. Does the idea of hiring someone who works remotely scare you off?I appreciate your help.
Cheers,

I am using a Windows 8 Laptop with Firefox. The social media box appears on each page and the “close” button of the box is not visible. I think it is covered/blocked by the tool bar. Please fix this issue, so that I can review the website.

KarenJune 24, 2015 at 3:22 am #1184897Up::0Hi Karen,
Congratulations on such a bold move. So many talk about doing this kind of thing but never end up doing it. I’m looking forward to following your travels. (I’m a big lover of travelling and seeing the world).
With regards to your site, mostly I think it’s great and gets the message across what you are doing and who you are. It’s easy to see what you do from a glance and first impression and the site is clean and easy to navigate.
My only suggestions are:
On the slider on the home-page how you have ‘travel with us’ and ‘work with us’, I’d have it say ‘follow our travels’ as I thought maybe you were offering a free trip so I could tag along with you! And with the ‘work with us’, rather than have it link to your contact form I’d have it firstly link to your services so people can see exactly what you offer.
As for your question does hiring someone who works remotely scare me, well no. I’m a freelance writer and copywriter and prior to this I ran a VA/social media consultancy business remotely. So for me, it’s second nature. I can see how it does scare some people, particularly as you are constantly travelling. I think the only way to reassure people is to show on your website that you are committed and dedicated to the projects you take on and won’t just drop the ball should the sunrise be too gorgeous over Santorini.
Anyway, hope this helps and if you are looking for a copywriter to work in with any of your projects, don’t hesitate to shout out. Really looking forward to following your travels.

Thank you so much for your feedback.
I have follow your advice for the home-page slides.
We are finding some clients are questioning if we will commit to it. We will be showing more of our work moving forwards to give this credibility.
Thank you for following us and feel free to let us know your opinion anytime you want.
We will definitely keep you in mind for our future projects.
Cheers,
KarenJune 24, 2015 at 12:20 pm #1184899Up::0Hi Karen,
The website works perfectly on Windows 8 after removing the plug-in.
First of all congratulations on taking this massive step. The website looks very professional with a bit of a personal touch, which is great.Below are few tips to think about and get opinion from others.
1. Phrase “Work with us” seems to be a bit misleading as it sounds like inviting to work on your projects. Perhaps phrases such as “What we offer”, Our Services”, “How can we help you”, “Problems we can resolve” may lead visitors to click.
2. Services page –> Project Management tab – It is not clear what type of projects you can manage. Is it software development, marketing or web development? A bit more details on type of projects will help to attract more customers.
Other than the above it easy and clear to understand what you offer.
All the best!
Gama
