hello
I currently use interspire email marketer on my web server and am having user issues
essentially my cron jobs are stuffing up and not sending my emails out, also autoresponders take far too long to send when they should technically be sent within 2 minutes
I have set up cron correctly but to no avail, there seems to be something wrong with the mysql databases and scripting language that is getting in the way of getting the emails to send
so I am looking for someone with mysql database experience and php coding,
I have full access to the program and cpanel, and interspire user guides for what to alter in the mysql databases (I can design websites but I have no clue as to how this works I don’t know PHP)
Interspire themselves has been screwing me around with customer service wanting $200 to upgrade, but I have tested the actual upgrade on my server and it still does not work so I am not sure if the $200 payed to them will fix the issue please PM me if you know php and mysql or have experience with interspire products

Hi Infotainer,
Have you checked out Interspire support articles such as this one?:
https://www.interspire.com/support/kb/questions/304What is the “upgrade” that Interspire are offering? And how is it supposed to help? You imply that it’s just some changes to the MySQL database.
What are you hosting on? A dedicated server? A VPS? Shared hosting?
I unfortunately have no experience with Interspire, though I do have a fair bit of PHP+MySQL experience (I used to develop web apps).
I’d be hesitant (if it were me facing the problem) to muck about with what should be supported software. Presumably it would no longer be supported once you’ve altered it.
Cheers,
Peter.December 18, 2011 at 6:24 am #1079791Up::0CondorCreative, post: 100318 wrote:If your cron jobs aren’t running correctly then it’s best to speak to your server guys (web host or whoever manages your server).done that about 6 months ago- webcity.com.au say that it works fine and thats it’s interspires problem
webcity crap service I must say I bet hey don’t even look and try to fluff me off.
I have read most of the articles
I have version 6.0.2 and they want me to upgrade to 6.1.2 so they provided me with full version 6.1.2 and how to patch it in, but I just installed the entire version as a new one and it doesn’t work, so I have both version on my server and both don’t work.
I have tried to contact me server but they don’t reply or when they do they “pass the buck” with no help but blaim interspire
thanks people I will …….. don’t know yet what to do
perhaps it’s the time of the season where they have limited staff for help so I will await January for any replies
December 19, 2011 at 12:13 pm #1079792Up::0David, have you considered moving to a hosted mailing solution such as MailChimp? It’s a really nice product. Autoresponses would still be handled by cPanel but mailing list membership/management would be done by MailChimp. You can put sign-up forms on your web site or add addresses yourself. Mail campaigns can be tracked and analysed.
I’m not affiliated with them, I just started using it a while back and I’m quite happy so far.
Peter.
December 19, 2011 at 12:46 pm #1079793Up::0How is it sending emails? Phpmail or sendmail?
I believe this is your problem!
are you using basic webhosting or have your own dedicated server?
My educated guess is that your host is causing this problem.
Look at interspire requirements i bet the host is missing something or has it in safemode.
I know a few clients using interspire and someone using interspire as a full custom clouded solution and they are not having problems but its their own servers.
mailchimp is a headache for double optins etc.

Depends what you use it for really… I think its the stupidest thing ever when the person is purchasing and you want to put them onto your customer list.
I get it when your just adding them to your prospect list or something else.

I own my Agency version of Interspire Email Marketer running on Cloud enviroment for just over 2yrs now.
What I can tell you is that if your email list is bigger than 1,000 then running it on a Shared Hosting Platform is not suitable.
In share enviroment your provider has more than likely limited your CPU usage so when you go to run cron every 2mins along with your other services mail/web etc your probably hitting that limit.
Also the send rate of the server would around 1000 emails per hour as well.
Then your IP reputation etc is dependant on the other users on the server doing the “right” thing too.
What Version are you running?
Once you get in the realm of 100K list then a dedicated server/vps and mail platform will be required or outsource solution.
December 20, 2011 at 8:05 am #1079797Up::0OK foldf here are some details (sorry I have had gigs on and could not reply)
shared server- YES
It was working at one point and then my hosting provider upgraded cpanel and it stopped workinginterspire version 6.0.2 I have also a version of the latest 6.1.0 (or whatever it is) I have installed this and same problem
I set it to send 200 per hour
I have a test database of 4 emails (all my own) to test campaigns and it stuffes up with these 4 emails as well- so It is not to 1000 emails
I am sending via cron , although this has failed so I send through PHP (pop up window) which while it works- I have to turn cron off so all autoresponders don’t work
Auto responders do get sent out but not at the right time
I have 1 autoresponder which I have set to send 1 hour after they join the mailing list- but It actually gets sent about 10 hours afterwwards
I have contacted webcity they don’t say there is a problem on their end.
I belive there is but what to do.safemode- How do you test of find out if a server is in test mode?
I know of the tick box to test interspire email campaign which is turned OFF (because I do actually want to send stuff) can a server be in safe mode
I do belive it is the server because it was at one point working, getting a dedicated server cost too much with web city and to be honest if I was going to spend that amount of money I would want better customer service
It’s xmas time now so no one is replying (interspire or webcity) so I have to sit here with a stupid looking face staring at the computer, not much else to do.
according to requirements
Operating System: Linux or Windows
Web Server: Apache or IIS
Scripting Language: PHP 5.1.3 or above
Database: MySQL 4.1.1 or above
Other: To use autoresponders, your need access to Cron on your web server (default) or Scheduled Tasks (Windows). To process bounced emails, your version of PHP needs access to the imap_xxx functions (default).I have better than this on my server.
Interspire FAQ page:
Do I need a dedicated server to run this?
No. All Interspire products don’t require a dedicated server, and shared hosting environments will suffice. Please see the requirements page however, to make sure your web host meets the requirements.December 20, 2011 at 9:45 am #1079798Up::0It was working at one point and then my hosting provider upgraded cpanel and it stopped working
Ok That’s interesting.
Question you need to ask them have they change SMTP (Mail Server)I have 1 autoresponder which I have set to send 1 hour after they join the mailing list- but It actually gets sent about 10 hours afterwwards
That sounds more like a mail queue issue.

Yeah Interspire a sloow at the best of times.
Ok I’ve got two solutions.
1.
It’s your mail server.Try this
http://www.jangosmtp.comAll you need to do is change your SMTP setting in Interspire to point to Jango SMTP server and it should work fine.
2.
If your doing less that 10k of email a month I’ll give you access to my cloud system called Kineticmail for FREE 12mths.December 20, 2011 at 9:55 am #1079799Up::0Myles knows his stuff inside out and upside down…
I know cause i have worked and known Myles for over ten years and we have a few businesses together.
Welcome to the forums Myles!

But 10 hours seems like an awfully long time for an overloaded SMTP server, unless the send rate has been severely limited. Is it not more likely to be an autoresponder config issue?
Whether it’s tied in with the cPanel update or not, I don’t know, but that does sound like it is relevant to the problem.
David, do you happen to remember the date of the upgrade (even approximately)?
Peter.
December 20, 2011 at 11:22 pm #1079801Up::0With the SMTP on a shared server your forgetting your probably 1 of 400 plus other people on webcity server. So the send rate of SMTP set to 1000 per hour lets say that’s between all of you.
Thats only 2.5 emails per hour per client that’s why Myles suggested the SMTP server.
