Hi all,
I’m starting a new business for baby clothing items from Korea. I have a few brands that I’ll be acquiring my stock from and am not sure what is the best way to get them shipped to Sydney. I will only be needing small quantities at a time so looking to ship from anywhere between 1kg-8kg worth (not bulky) of baby items. Most of these brands ship via EMS but it’s not very cheap. I’ve also been told to try freight forwarding companies, but really not sure where to start. I’ve tried googling but also not sure whether they are reliable trustworthy companies.
Any help or advice would be great! Thanks in advance!

Up::0Hi there cdunning, and welcome.
There are a number of freight forwarders who are well-respected members of these forums, so I have my fingers crossed that one of them will put their hand up to give you some advice about this.
In the meantime, thanks for joining the forum, and best of luck for your new business.
All the best,

freight forwarding is the best way. Judging from many Korean business around CBD/Chinatown, I assume that there are many Korean freight forwarders based in Sydney that can send stuff from AU-KR and vice versa. I guess you can google Korean – Aus business forum or Sydney based Korean forwarder.
But again with this type of forwarder, the heavier of the total merchandise, the cheaper the fee. That’s way many business or personal shipment tend to pool their items until it reach minimum weight.
Cheers

I once posted a 2-kg item which takes 5 business day to Korea for circa $20 only, cheaper than Domestic Shipping delivered by Aust Post.

Would you be able to share the business name of the Brisbane based freight agency please? I am currently trying to locate a company to help me bring in a small container (20″) of items from South Korea to Brisbane.Thanks so much for your help!

LizzyDecember 17, 2015 at 4:35 am #1189885Up::0I am a Korean, living in Australia.
I think it’s cheaper that you use the one in Korea.
of course, you need to get quotations on both sides, and compare and make a decision.Recently i get 2 containers from S Korea to Sydney and found it cheaper using the one in Korea for the same/ faster service.
i can give you the contact if you want.

LizzyDecember 17, 2015 at 5:42 am #1189887Up::0Hi Lizzy,
not sure how much, but it was cheaper than using the Australian.
make sure you get the quotation from both (Korean/ Australian) and make a good decision for you.
Transportation + custom clear/government reporting service (you have to report to Korean Gov when exporting) + etcit’s S.Y Group.
