    Hi Folks,

I’m a long turn lurker on this site – but this is the first time I’ve managed to post to it.. and thought that Introducing myself was the sensible way to start.

I have an online service that has been in development for a couple of years and has been LIVE since the beginning of 2009. It is a unique concept – not just in Australia, but worldwide, and provides an opportunity for ordinary Australians to make a bit of extra cash, by renting out spare or unused space in their home of business for storage.

The service is called SpaceOut (http://www.spaceout.com.au), and is available Australia wide right now. Members are able to create a listing for free which allows them to advertise their space for rent. People looking for Storage (we also cater for Parking Spaces and Office Space), simply search what is available in their local area (search results are displayed on a map so it is easy to spot spaces that are convenient).

Pretty much everyone we explain the concept to “gets it” pretty easily and agrees that it is a great idea. We already have members Australian wide making hundreds of dollars a month (that’s thousands a year) – literally making money out of thin air.

Check out the site – http://www.spaceout.com.au – We’d love any comments, criticisms, feedback or suggestions.

    Hi SpaceOut,
i love the concept. Its a type of service that would be able to generate a LOT of good PR so i’d suggest contact a PR specialist in your state. You should be able to get value far beyond what you spend.

A good idea like this could really benefit from some specialist marketing help so I’d suggest shopping around for a small business marketing agency and see if you think that they could really help you out.

    Cheers
    Mike

Thanks Mike – Great advice – and we have started down this route a little – Budget is our big issues at the moment, but I agree that getting specialist advice is pretty important.
