    Hi

I need some advice and thought this would be the perfect place!

I am setting up a new plus size clothing company however I have decided to start with the bridal range first and what I am unsure about is whether to split the bridal/formal wear from the clothing.

I will be setting up the Perfect Just My Size website/social media it will have clothing, lingerie shoes etc. Do I add the bridal/formal to this or set up a new name/website as Perfect Just My Size Bridal?

I am worried that putting the bridal/formal wear with clothing and lingerie will be too confusing.

This would also apply to social media.

    Thoughts would be appreciated

    Rachel

    Hi Rachel,

This is a tricky one, I agree. While keeping them separate would be clearer there is a heap of crossover too, e.g. a bride-to-be might also want to look at lingerie and a going away outfit. So if you did decide to keep Bridal separate I’d expect to see lots of items from the other area featured on there, or linked to at least.

I feel as if I’ve added to the confusion! Anyway the good side of hard to make decisions is there is no ‘wrong’ way, I’m sure either strategy would work out fine.

    All the best,

    Sam

Thanks for that – I have decided to split them as they have quite different elements but they will be linked.

    Thanks for replying :)

I completely agree – split with links back and forth will be ideal.

There is a huge market for stylish plus size clothing – I met with someone who had only released one range but was inundated with enquiries across the world.

Keep your product modern and stylish and you may just get the same reaction.

Rather than totally splitting it, why don’t you have one sight that sells everything and the one site that specialises in the bridalwear which could include some lingerie to wear on the day? The bridal site can link to the main one and the main one then offers everything as well.

A lot of the shopping cart software available lets you manage multiple ‘stores’ (essentially websites) that can share stock. PrestaShop is a good example that will do this.
