    Hi!
I’m starting out as a mobile florist specializing in corporate and home flowers.

I moved from Sydney to the GC last December, so it’s a little hard for me at the moment, coz I don’t have many friends around here, unlike Sydney. I hope to get to know lots of people on this forum :)

And, I’m new in starting a bs too!! arrgh!

My kids are 2yo daughter & 3mth son.

    Cheers!

    Youki

    Hi and welcome Youki :-)
What a great idea, and a lovely site! Hope you do well. I’ll be giving your link to my daughter, who always wants to have fresh flowers in her home, and can’t always organise it. Where do you deliver to?
    Thank you.

    Cheers,
    JulieA

Hi! Thanks for your replies :)

    Dear JulieA,
    Wow, thank you!!
I totally understand your daughter’s situation.
People are just too busy to get around to flowers, and there arn’t good variety of flowers available at supermarkets (they’re not too fresh either) and florist shops can be expensive..
I deliver to all areas of GC & southern suburbs of Brisbane!

    Dear Elizabeth
Hi! Thanks for having a look at my webpage!
This site looks great doesn’t it?
    I think I’d be using it a lot :)

    Cheers,
    Youki

Thanks for having a look at my webpage!

    Yours look great too!
I’d be needing some cleaning when I do get my own work space/office.

Giving flowers is always a good idea :)
I’d be happy to help you make your special clients happy if you need something on the GC!

    Regards
    Youki

Welcome Youki, you’ll have your hands full with 2 young children and a new business! You’ll find some great advice here at Flying Solo. I’m also a mum of Thomas 3 and Emily almost 2, and it’s great to have a skill/trade you can sell while stilll being around for your children day to day! (I’m a graphic designer specialising in print, work hours “when the kids are happy” – I for one couldn’t put them in day care 5 days a week and go off to a “real” job).

    Leisa,

Hi! I’m loving this site so far. It’s great!
You have 2 little kids too? I guess 2 and 3 are nice age. They can say what they want, and are starting to do things by themselves.
I couldn’t get a real job either… But it is so lovely to work from home with kids around everyday. You get lots of distruptions though :P
But I’m glad that I have the skills to work from home. We’re really lucky to have chosen our current careers :) hehe

    Thanks for visiting my site!
I started to plan in Jan, and finished my webpage few weeks ago!
I hope to get some clients… soon!! :)
Your “vacuum robot” is really interesting too!!
Hairdresser that I went to in Syd had one of these! They look soooo handy!
(Especially for them, they have to sweep up all day)

    Hi Youki,
Its so nice to find another mum and small business owner!! I have a girl (3) and boy almost 2. Makes for a busy life!!

How is business going?? Have you up and running long?? I have a wishing well hire business, operating since April. Have you been getting many wedding enquiries??

Love the website by the way. Best of luck.

    Hi Marion!

    Sorry for my late response.
3 and 2 are nice age isn’t it.
I’m loving how my 2yo daughter talks and follows directions now. And they do really funny things. hehe

Are you in south Brisbane? That’s not too far from me!
    I live in North GC.

    Wishing well hire sounds fantastic!
I’m fairly new too. I’ve been planning & preparing for a few months and started in June.
I try to get home and corporate customers, so I haven’t been doing lots of ad for weddings.
But I do have 1 wedding that I’ll be doing Sep 2010.
It’ll be nice if we can do something together wouldn’t it. ;)

    Hi Youki,

How are you? Great I hope and how are you getting on with your business?

I came across your thread and thought I’d check in and let you know if you ever need another mum just to talk to – about biz or otherwise, then don’t hesitate to contact me.

I support mums in business across Oz so I might even be able to connect you with a few fab mums if you’re still new to the area.

    Cheers! Alli, Motivating Mum

    Hi

your website is lovely. It says you are moving to Melbourne in July, wow, you really are busy! Having flowers delivered is a great idea, as I love fresh flowers in my home, but they aren’t something I always remember to pick up when I’m out. Having a regular scheduled delivery would be great.

    cheers
    Angela
