I haven’t been well lately. Problems with my family life (many and varied) have affected my performance at work and I have had to go on a “performance improvement plan”. They have also warned me that I could lose my job, if I don’t improve. This has made me worried sick.
I have seen a therapist. She has written to my GP who is willing to sign something that recommends that I have stress leave for 1 week maybe.
I need to bring this to the attention of my employer. I am a bit frightened as to how they will react.
Anyone got any similar experiences? Any suggestions?

In QLD, Workcover never approved any claims I saw as a result of stress around being put on a PIP – just something to keep in mind if issues esculate.
Good luck with your recovery.

You need to be able to relax even on the Internet, for example through online games, and it’s all more than real)) I advise you to try and you will not regret it)))
Hello all, these days everyone reads only useful and little entertainment, I suggest combining the pleasant with the useful by this contentNovember 11, 2021 at 4:28 am #1232134Up::0Many people try to eat stress, but I do not see the point in this, it can form a disease – obesity. Or they, on the contrary, can’t eat and to do this, they need to calm down. To do this I would suggest listening to music, it is very soothing, or watching a movie. A book most often acts on us as a sleeping pill, so try to read. Personally for me the best way is to talk to people.
March 14, 2022 at 1:11 am #1235006Up::0Personally, I cope with stress by playing games. I often play various shooters, so to speak, to blow off steam. Sometimes it is even useful to introduce yourself in the place of the enemy in the game, all those who bring stress into your life. I recently downloaded Gears of War from the pirate bay and relaxed as much as possible. I think that sometimes it is useful to sit down and spend a few hours in the game, immediately forget about all the difficulties and worries

October 2, 2022 at 12:48 pm #1239334Up::0Stress is inevitable, no matter how much you balance work and your personal life. No wonder there is plenty of information and statistics [Mod Edit To Remove Promotional Content] on the topic. I was no exception when I also needed to take a stress leave. The best advice I received from my friend that day was – “Be upfront and openly tell the employer about the problem as it`s for your own good.”
