On 14th December the Australian Tax Office published their views on the topic in a public ruling titled: TR 2016/3: Income tax: deductibility of expenditure on a commercial website.

It is still pretty confusing so our General Manager who is also a registered tax adviser has provided some explanations which we published on our blog. You can find it at – What costs for my website are deductible? Sorry but it is still reasonably long so difficult to post directly here.

If you run a commercial website or build commercial websites then it could help you to get as much back as possible from the ATO.

If any of the moderators have a problem with this post just let me know.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

    John
