    Hi guys,

Im hoping there is someone here that can provide some expertise knowledge,
Since last July 2013 i have paid atleast $8,000 AUD for my website using a foreign freelancer in the Phillipines.

Of course i am seeking ways that would be possible for me to recieve a margin of this money back would be great, ie. through business tax return.

If Someone can tell me if it is possible and how i can go about it,
    Would be much appreciated
    Thanks
    Will

    Hi Will

You haven’t provided very much information to answer this question properly. For example are you operating as a sole trader, company etc? Is your business earning income? Were the website costs necessary to earn your income?

It might be possible for you to claim the $8,000 you paid for your website build in your tax return as a deduction against your income if it was incurred in earning your income. But if you do not have any income related to your website then you will not be able to claim it. You may be able to carry the cost forward and claim against future income if it is going to make money in the future.
