Word by mouth remains the quickest, cheapest most effective way to market your business.

Just putting the truth out there

The internet is the first place shoppers search when looking for a product or service. While word of mouth is still effective, it not even a blip on the radar compared to online. Also, if your site is buried pages deep and doesn’t rank for decent search terms, then yes, the internet is dead! lol

Be interested what you base this comment on. Online sales are still a smaller percentage than shop fronts. Well at least a week ago

My internet is alive with free word of mouth. Try Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, G+, Blab, email, webinars, share ebooks, talk about courses. If all else fails, there’s a pretty good site for recommendations, getting to know people and their services, PMing people. Plying Soho I think it’s called. Something like that anyway.

This is the first post I’ve read since joining last night. Looks like I’ve dived right into a troll post.

Couldn’t agree more, maybe we should coin the phrase “word of internet”

You know what? The internet is not dead. But … I will say that word-of-mouth brings the BEST clients. The internet (I have found) tends not to :)

Internet leads are great, WOM leads are better. If you can’t close those it’s going to be VERY hard to close the cold ones ….

I think the following gets forgotten though, by people who’ve been around an industry for a while and have lots of WOM leads; when you’re just starting out, there are no Mouths to express Words about you!

So in the beginning you’ve got to get some traffic/leads from somewhere, and the internet is an awesome way to do that.

Just couldn’t resist chipping in to what I also suspect is a little bit of a troll post :-)
