    This is an article (not mine!) that shows the value of split testing stuff on your website. It’s based on the a familiar topic – getting people to optin to your email.

    Useful info if you have the phrase “we won’t spam you” in the form as a privacy thing to encourage signup.

    Of course it applies to that market and market niche, you would need to test yourself on your own site..but it shows why, as an online direct marketer, I just love split and multivariate conversion testing. Everyone should be testing something on their website all the time (if you have the traffic)

    Split (or A/B testing) is a valuable tool if you’re interested in squeezing all you can from your website. I do it quite a bit. There’s some paid services available to do it or you can just make use of Google Analytics which has a feature called “Experiments” which is perfectly fine to get started. I’ve always got a few experiments running on my websites.
