    Hi everyone,

I am here to be inspired by all you ambitious and passionate Flying Soloists! :D

My name is Ben and I am an entrepreneur from Brisbane. My most recent business owned a number of US patents which we successfully licensed. I have also had a lot of failed ventures over the last 10 years, but I have very much appreciated my failures and used them to become more confident and mentally resilient.

I recently read “Buy then Build: How Acquisition Entrepreneurs Outsmart the Startup Game” by Walker Deibel and this book has honestly transformed my entire career path. It discusses how buying a business with existing product-market fit, customers and cashflow and THEN innovating is a far less risky proposition than traditional startups. It also busts the myth that you need a lot of capital to purchase a decent business. I wish I’d had this book 10 years ago when I first started out on the entrepreneur path!

In any case, my main goal for 2020 is to purchase a small manufacturing or distribution business with a strong sales and marketing team, but requiring operational efficiencies (Operations is my strength). I am excited for this next phase in my career! :D

I am hoping to be able to help answer people’s business questions on here if I am able to.
