    Hi Soloists

    How are you this afternoon?

Just curious whether there are many other Under 30’s in the Sydney area?

I have read recently that a majority of FS Followers are >50.
(There is nothing negative about this at all) just curious as to how many twenty somethings there are locally.

I’m inspired by everyone on here, even though I’m a Photographer, we are all thirsty for knowledge and I love that we can all collaborate and pick one anothers brains in this arena!

    Warm regards
    Mel :)

    Hi I’m under 30……..

Well Ive been told many times to act my age, so this means I’m under 30.

OK so the challenge is to find those under 30…………hmmmmm

Yes where did you find this misinformation that the average is >50, actually I dont know anyone that age on this forum, they all seem to be young whippersnappers to me. ;);)

    Hi Mel,
Thanks for all your contributions so far! Not sure if you may have been referring to our ‘Understanding Micro Business’ survey? But you can down load the full report here which reveals all about this community:
    http://www.flyingsolo.com.au/understanding-micro-business

But in a nutshell, in terms of age I can tell you “We’re experienced. Of the 1,330 survey participants, 46% fell into the 40-54 age bracket, with a further 36% in the 25-39 range.”

Hope that helps your search :)

    Cheers
    Peter

    Hi Bizzy,

I read the stats of FS in a newsletter I received recently on the demographics of micro business owners.

    Cheers
    Mel

Hey Jake, quite right! Life experience yes, but not necessarily business experience :)

I should have added that the next point on those survey findings was…

We’re established. 57% have been in business for over three years (the majority of this group over five) with a further 23% in the 1 to 3 year range.

You have the enviable double of youth + experience!

    Cheers,
    Peter

    Mid 20’s here,

My 2c: even with more years of experience doesn’t mean more experience. just more years… and years of doing something in a way that doesn’t work anymore is sometimes a disadvantage…

    @ the under 20’s
good on ya for getting interested and or engaged with a business community but a word of advice, Just do it, try not to get stuck in “analysis paralysis”
