    Hi everyone,

    I have a client who went into administration and the business was closed. The client owed a small amount of money – just wondering if anyone knows if the unpaid amount is added as an expense for tax or would I just delete the outstanding invoice. For my accounting I am using just a basic program, Quicken Home & Business 2012. If anyone knows or is familiar with how it should be entered in Quicken I would appreciate your comments.

    I’m no accountant or bookkeeper, and use MYOB myself, but the entry would go in as a bad debt and be written off at tax time. Is there an account for bad debts in your programme?
