    Hello all,
I am researching the possibility of opening a cafe-type business (italian food) in melbourne, victoria. I have heard from several sources that the cost of a liquor licence is in excess of 100 thousand dollars, however, according to my research the victorian commission for gambling and liquor regulation the amount is just over $400. I am greatly confused; where would this figure have come from?
Also, is it possible to rent/lease a property with a suitable kitchen space already installed? As the cost of fitting out a space seems very expensive

    Ouch! That does sound expensive!

I hope that someone in our community has some concrete info to offer you.

Best of luck with your plans, and thanks for joining Flying Solo,
