    Hi Gang,

I am just about to get a new phone system and for both office’s to get connected, the melbourne office will be connected by VOIP to our mackay office and for my clients.

Does anyone have any recommendations or ‘be careful of’ thoughts about going over to voip (call quality, rates etc).

Thanks for your help. I am looking into an avaya phone system.

    Hello,

Since voip runs over your internet connection it is more complex than standard pstn or isdn phones. (Not in setup, in things that can affect call quality)

Just looked at the Avaya website. Are you just going to use their handsets?

There are a lot of voip options: internal voip server, hosted PBX service, simple line trunking, integration with a standard PBX system?

In any case your internet connection is one of the most critical parts of the whole voip solution.

Ive recently performed some comparisons for a client and I’d be happy to share parts of the information I have.

Here is the small article I wrote on a job I performed in July.

Here is my comments from another thread in this forum on voip.
