    Hi,

You have done a nice job of creating the content and images that are on the site. There are a few issues that you should address. If the main purpose of the site is to sell online then that should be what the user sees and make it easy.

Why suggest people go to your eBay store it will cost you more and you are just sending potential customers away from your online store.

Following are a quick list of issues:

    1. Hard to find categories – they should be visible without scrolling and make it easy for a visitor to find and browse categories.

    2. Personally I think that you need a nice logo and header and not the company info that is at the top now.

    3. I can’t find any T&C’s at all maybe I have missed them

    4. No contact information except a mobile phone and Belmore in the header and I would not use a mobile number on a store go get a 1800 or 1300 number and do a redirect.

    5. What is your target market? Australia? I am guessing yes as you only have local shipping so drop the multi-lingual website link on the right it is superfluous (http://gtranslate.net/multilingual-website-made-easy).

    6. Get rid of the Adsense advertisements this is an online store don’t advertise other companies and send your prospective customers away.

    7. You only find out how you accept payment once you start the checkout.

    8. Even though you use PayPal you should have an SSL certificate to encrypt the personal address and contact information you collect.

    9. The shipping is headed up as Zone 1, Zone 2…etc. There is no where that you explain what these are.

    10. Add a copyright statement on the site preferably in the footer.

A main principal of selling online is to get the customer the product they want as soon as possible and have as few obstacles to purchase as you can. Never send them away from your store to another website and only promote your own products.

There are probably other issues. Have you made any sales and are you getting visitors to the site? Make sure you have some analytic’s like Google Analytic’s enabled.

How many products do you have? You now have around 64 pages indexed in Google. Have you created and submitted a XML sitemap? Go start a Google Webmaster account and take a look at their webmaster forum (http://www.google.com/webmasters).

    Good luck

    John

    Hi John,

Thank you so much for your review! It really helps.

regarding the eBay link, I put that on my website because I have got some customers feedback from my eBay store, and perhaps this could attract the customers that come to my website and have a peace of mind to do online shopping. But I have considered about this and remove this link. thank you!

As I want to keep low for the cost to set up the website and everything to be not excessive, so that I can give the lowest price as possible to my customers, thus I still use mobile number for customers orders. however, I will get the 1800 number when this business is growing more. thanks for this advice!
also I will be considering to use the SSL certificate when this business is growing more. thanks for this advice!

My target market is Australia, but there are also some customers from International who made a purchase from my website, they are from Japan and Thailand, therefore I put multi-language dropdown and also there is an international shipping cost too, this can be seen after customer type their shipping address, for example the customer type Japan, and then the shipping cost will show the figure amount.
perhaps this will make the customers won’t bother to try make a purchase? :)
I will think about the way I can change this to make it easier…

I really appreciate and thank you so much for your time to review my website.

    cheers,

It is not the language dropdown it is the marketing link above it “Multilingual Website” that is the issue.

You can get SSL for as little as $5.99 / year although it is reasonable to pay $100 or so per year. It will help you by adding trust to the site and will make a difference with conversions.

Hi CVO (sorry i think i missed your name),

Web site is clean, and although i do not have much input on your actual site i must say that i LOVE JOHNS comments.. all very positive and if taken on board could certainly assist in refining what you are trying to achieve..

    Some food for thought though.

    a. although i understand you wanting to link from your web site to ebay to show you are ‘reputable’ i think you would be far better of flipping this thought process on its head somehow and consider it the other… how to drive people from your ebay store to your web site…

Reason: realistically how many people will find you on your own web site as opposed to people finding you on ebay? far more from ebay to you and then you have the advantage of removing you 7-12% ebay fees by having them buy directly…………….. People will then know you are reputable as they already seen your feedback on ebay and will more than likely be comfortable buying directly – with a little incentive such as the savings of the %spoken or even free postage (if the % covers the postage offer and maybe retain a little extra earnings as well :D)

    b. with your payment offerings you state paypal and direct deposit… i think you may be able to also advise you can take Visa and Mastercard – although this is done through paypal express maybe?? might want to look into that as could lift your profile – reputation a little..

    c. re the multilingual site, i understand vitamins have a massive asian audience and this could be an advantage, although makes your site (personal comment) look right out of the box… have you ever tracked who uses this aspect of your site? you may find its dead space that you could pull the catagories up to?

Whilst its admirable that you are trying to keep costs down at this point, it is best to do things ‘right’ in order to maximise your opportunities and to portray the most appropriate image of who you are.. and so your customers feel ‘safe’… and to do this i would personally advise the following:

    d. Invest a little into your 1800 – 1300 number as this will give people the impression that you are a ‘retail presence’ rather than an operator out of your car or home.. not judging that you are or are not, its just a common thought if someone offers just a mobile number as contact which then leads people into thinking .. what if something foes wrong, are they insured, are they… are they.. are they… and you get the pic..

The cost of doing this can be a few coffees a month that you may have to go without although could return via your website/reputation much much more… speak to some of the other FS forumites who specialise in this.. Actually, to get you started here is Steve’s web site who is regular on here and i tell you what a pleasure to speak with.. he’ll help however he can http://diverttomobile.com.au/index.html

    e. SSL.. oh my.. this is a must.. i would NEVER EVER enter personal details for shipping or anything else unless you had SSL (padlock) on your site.. for as little as John says, you could never realise the impact of the security options you make available.. Really, i think i pay under $2 a week for mine and is easily managed…. also gives the impression that your site is more ‘professional’ and you know what,,,,,,, nobody knows what it costs you, they ‘perceive’ youve spent mega bucks to make your site more secure for them :)

Wishing you all the best, love to hear how you go and see your ‘tweeks’

    Cheers
    Jason

Agree with majority of John’s advice above, but one little pet peeve of mine: Having “Design by ” when the site uses a pre-built theme. “Developed by…” fine, or just remove altogether, but just something that annoys me since it was not designed by them at all.

    Could be just me though.

    Hi Care Vitamins,

Just a quick note to let you know that I’ve moved your thread over here to the Community Reviews section of the forum, which is the more appropriate place for it.

Could you please take a quick read through of the specific guidelines that apply to this section of the forum (they’re at the top of the page), and also add the answers to these questions to the thread?

    Quote:
    1. What needs reviewing? (i.e. logo, website, idea etc…)
    2. What does your business do?
    3. Who is your target market?
    4. What specific concerns do you have?

Thanks, and good luck with it all,
    Jayne

Oops, I’m sorry Jayne for writing in the wrong place, I guess I didn’t see that there is a place for website review. Apologise for the mistake.

Thank you SimplyReplica for your review. You have opened my mind about many things…really appreciate and thank you for that!

Thanks guys and I will try to improve my website.

Have a great day and wish you all success…!
