Hello there,
I recently purchased (well actually 3 months ago) some goods from a cheap on-line store. I’m an internet price shopper (I think most people are)…..and I think this time I’ve been taught a lesson.
In short I have been royally messed around. I have had the pleasure of making two polite friendly follow up phone calls a week for about 2 months now.
First they send me out the wrong item. It takes me about 10 phone calls and a month to get that sorted (they never called me once despite repeated promises to do so). Eventually I get the Return Authority and send it back.
2 Months later I’m still waiting for my refund. I swear I’m up to about 50 phone calls by now. Talked to 7 different people who usually reply, “he’s not in right now, can I call you back” (they never do). “I can’t process that, only such and such can, and he’s not in right now, can I take a message and call you back” (they never do).
Most people would have gone really rank at them by now, but I figure persistence and patients will finally pay off. So far it hasn’t but…I guess I’ll keep ringing…
Anyway, I’m at the point where I want to spread the word that this company is bodgy and best stayed away from. I don’t think it is fraud (although it is possible), just an extremely poorly run company.
Does anyone know how to go about doing such a thing?
Thank you

I just had a look at ozripoff and it seems like one to stay away from. There is no moderation whatsoever.
Highlight I picked up on was a guy complaining about Toyota because he bought a new hybrid and ‘thought’ he could convert it to gas but when he found out he couldn’t he though he’d vent on the internet.
Another was a reply by someone trying to look official saying the original poster was being investigated for ‘defimation’.
A high volume forum like Whirlpool usually makes things easy to find.

Would you believe about 20 minutes after posting this, I got my refund…but they sent it to the wrong paypal account…lol, so they’re trying…Unfortunately I reckon this is going to lead to another 10 phone calls spaced out over a week or two.
The ozripoff site has the sound of a crazy groaning man on the home page…it looks interesting as a lunch time read but I don’t think it would be effective to prevent bad operators from operating. I think social media would be most effective.
The thing with on-line trading is you find it by searching, unless the bad stuff comes up in Google then it doesn’t get seen by the purchasing public…..
Much of Internet commerce is price driven and service levels count for naught. A dollar cheaper will get you the business, before after sales service will
One thing I have learned though is that with pay pal you get 45 days to raise a dispute. In retrospect I should have raised a dispute immediately, sent back the incorrectly picked goods without an RA and have been done with it.
Oh well, it’s clear they are trying despite being incompetent so I will just accept it and learn my lesson.
Thank you

Its interesting though, I used to work with a major catering equipment manufacturer as QLD service manager. Whenever we quoted things like installs and commissionings for the sales team the sales manager was always whining that the price had to be lower because people are buying purely on price and we had to be the cheapest.
Yet every call I had from someone that had a problem with the equipment down the track would complain that they paid good money for their equipment and the only reason they bought X was because of its reputation and reliability.
Seems most of the time you cant win.
Personally I’m happy to pay extra to receive good personal service from a local small business rather than get something a bit cheaper from a faceless company with no benefit to my local economy, after all, I’d appreciate the same commitment from my customers.
