Hi everyone, I am not sure about you but I use various software programs to help me in my virtual assistant business. I use time tracking, billing, Google Apps (for email) and various CRM systems. May I ask what everyone else uses, if anything? Have you found something that does it all? I’d really appreciate your help and feedback. Thank you!

I am a Xero Certified Advisor and use Workflow max to help with project management.
It is pretty easy to use and can take a lot of the pain out of measuring data to help make decisions about your business.
The best part is that you can automate many business processes that would otherwise require reams of paper to be shuffled at a large ongoing cost before you made any decision at all.

I use loads of saas to run my virtual assistant business.
All of them free, I havent found a single solution but im not sure I would want one.
The reason is innovation, its unlikely that one company will come up with the best solution for all of these tasks
so you would be using software that is less efficient than other products that are out there.
Here is what i use:
I think Dropbox would be considered Saas, if you havent got it yet you should
Teamlab is similar to basecamp but free
timedoctor is really good for tracking time for billing and especially if you use remote staff.
And I put snapengage on my website to catch visitors stopping by.
Billingboss are a really good online invoicing site made by sage.
google docs is essential
For a CRM i use vtiger but teamlab are bringing out a crm soon so ill be looking into that.Mitch

Big IQs+1 for Google Docs. Since we have staff in the eastern states, we’ve started using Google Docs for easier collaboration.
Cheers,
ShaunAugust 1, 2011 at 11:29 am #1068697Up::0I use a hosted Microsoft Exchange service & MYOB Liveaccounts.
Hosted exchange is the best thing since sliced bread.
MYOB Liveaccounts is a bad attempt at stopping XERO from stretching its lead too far out of reach.

I use:
- Xero for accounting
- Workflowmax for workflow management and billing
- Google Apps for business for mail etc
- Dropbox for document storage and backup
- Insightly as my CRM and ad-hoc task tracker
I am currently trying out another saas product WORKetc for my workflow/billing/CRM and to do to replace Workflowmax and Insightly as it integrates directly with Gmail which Workflowmax does not do (Insightly does). It would just simplify the process for me.
September 10, 2011 at 1:19 pm #1068699Up::0I’m using
- Xero
- Google Apps
- Capsule CRM (just started)
- MailChimp
I’ve had universally good experiences with all of them. Have also tried out Office 365 which looks perfect for someone who is wedded to the Microsoft look-and-feel. Google Apps or O365, either one is a massive step up from just using desktop software.
September 21, 2011 at 3:47 am #1068700Up::0- Google Apps (messaging, sharing, collaboration)
- Dropbox (File sharing)
- Solve360 (CRM software)
- Skype and Google Voice (international phone calls)
- Trend Worry Free Business Security Services (security software)
