I’d love some advice from the website conversion gurus out there.

I’ve got a major print advertisement happening in a few months.

I was very happy sending the offline traffic to a vanity url – splash page – on our main website.

But then suddenly everyone around me has started demanding INSTEAD we send them to a Facebook landing page….

Anyone got any data on which may convert better?

The basic conversion here is register for more product information…

I’m a bit old-school in that I prefer my website to do the heavy lifting, rather than Facebook – which I see as more of a message channel…

But being the lone voice in the room, I now seek to ask the question of a wider audience…

    Many thanks

    Evo

I suggest you speak to Chris Bates from octoply.com.au. Great guy and knows his stuff when it comes to landing pages.

    Hi Evo,

The fantastic thing about online marketing is that you can test stuff. Prior to your “major” campaign, can you send some other advertising traffic (eg Adwords) to each landing page and test it to see which does better.

I hate internal p*ssing contests phrased “I think…” the data will give you the right answer.

    Cheers

PS you should probably be testing alternative landing pages anyway. Check out the whichtestwon.com website to see some tests that will amaze with the outcomes.

Evo use FB as just one of your marketing channels…

Always send fans back to your website.

FB LP’s can and do work fine, although so do LP’s on
    your main site.

Why do one technique when you can do 17 (etc etc).

Thank you all for your suggestions. I’m developing a small test n learn program prior to the major launch.

Great comments above certainly kick started my thinking
