If you had no business and were given access to 100,000 customers of a online store and their data, email, address, phone no., etc. What would you do with it? They all come from different industries and of different sizes, so it is hard to sell one thing to all these people right?

You have no idea which industry they are from (no data).

Regardless of a list, people have to legally opt in or out of a mail list. So if they are not on a regular enewsletter now, you can’t just put them onto a new one.
If they are receiving a regular newsletter then that would tell you what their interests are.

Check out the anti-spam laws first.

    Yeah! Agreed.

Check the legal act before you use the list, just simply read the link from ACMA

    Govt link:

And the SPAM ACT 2003 Guide (only few pages for read)

    So, potentially, you’re a glorified spammer? :)

There area few things you can do as long as you don’t try to sell anything but given the laws, it’s easier (and safer) to create your own list of targeted prospects using double optins.

Don’t be a risk taker. be a risk manager.

Remember, the real asset is the relationship you have with the list.
