(how much time does $5k buy anyway?)
Although nerf guns do suddenly seem strangely appealing….
You could purchase someone else’s time to do the small things that you don’t actually need to do personally. Depending on the tasks $5k may get you quite a bit of time, especially if the people you get can do it quicker than what you can…
May 3, 2013 at 12:05 am #1139919Up::0ScarlettR, you are a champion!
I think I would buy a couple of Nerf Guns… and then possibly put a sign on my door saying “salespeople will be shot on site.”
I think I’d put the rest of the money in the bank, and just enjoy having it there and knowing that my bills will all be paid each week.

May 3, 2013 at 3:53 am #1139922Up::0We are all certainly like minded in 1 way or another by these responses – marketing and streamlining processes has been repeated a lot !!! And time precious time !!!!

May 3, 2013 at 5:35 am #1139923Up::0A targeted AdWords campaign. Unless your business is flying already, I don’t see the point in investing those funds into ancillary segments (branded items etc).
$5k into AdWords will bring in plenty of new business, which, if done correctly, will yield significant returns … which you can then use on further SEO / AdWords, and eventually the branded items.

But what do you think about the Nerf guns?
Just kidding. But I can see what you are saying about branded items. There are perhaps more important things to purchase at this point in my business.
May 3, 2013 at 8:03 am #1139925Up::0How about branded nerf guns!
Now there’s an idea to excite your customers!
And give them bullets with with staff names on themhmmm I can see their desk now proudly displaying nerf bullets with names!
Mwahahaha!

Haha – Nerf guns are very cool.
To give you some insight, I didn’t buy any branded gear until around year 3 / 4 of the business.
Branded items, in my opinion, are an ego tool – I think the actual benefits are negligible for SME’s. <--- This is my opinion of course, others will disagree.

Agreed… ROI mixed with fun should all be part of your business strategy.
Throwing a small BBQ, once you completed a good sized job to celebrate. Inviting all neighbors along and any friends of your clients would be marketing dollars well spent.
Just remember, that drinking on an empty stomach makes for a hard day. So throw another prawn on the barbie.
