    Hi,

    I’m new to this forum and had a look around but couldn’t find a thread that gives me the answer to my question.

    Can you submit a development application to council before signing the lease or is it done after? It’s for a food premises but not a cafe, i.e. we won’t be making any food.

    I’m about to start negotiations on a lease and trying to figure how much rent free period I should ask for. I know how long the fit out will take but not sure if you can start the council process before you sign.
