I’m interested in a quick survey of Flying Solo businesses and hearing your thoughts about the type of online marketing you would choose for your business and why. This is in your dream world regardless of what your budget can currently afford or whether you currently feel you need the service
The types of online marketing I’m interested in are the following:
– Search Engine Optimisation
– Social Media Marketing
– Inbound Marketing
– Online/Internet Marketing
– Content MarketingPlease choose from the above, you can pick more than one if you’d like and I do realise there is overlap which is on purpose. More importantly I’m interested in why you would choose it or why you wouldn’t choose a particular form of marketing.
Questions you might want to think about when answering:
a) Which forms of marketing have you heard about and which ones you haven’t?
b) Which service do you feel would provide the best return on investment?
c) How would you measure success for your chosen marketing methods? I.e. brand awareness, conversions, ranking, traffic etc.
d) Have you heard positive reviews or negative reviews about a particular form of marketing?I appreciate your time, happy for big answers and small.

October 19, 2014 at 11:19 am #1173480Up::0I’m just starting out in internet/affiliate marketing and will look to combine this with a strong social media presence. As with most things, I’m expecting it to be a hard slog.

The key is that it isn’t all about selling. You need to establish a solid relationship with others before pushing your business upon them. Post interesting content on a regular basis and strike up a conversation with others on topics that aren’t necessarily business-related, such as music or sport. By establishing some kind of common ground with others, you will be building a level of trust, and from there, there is the potential for a solid business relationship.
October 19, 2014 at 11:40 am #1173482Up::0Yes definitely. I just started out on Twitter which has been fun. Also set up a Facebook page. I watch a lot of sport so I usually comment on that and maybe TV shows too.
Thanks for the advice, I’m hoping to pick up a lot from the forum.

Happy to be of assistance. Sport and TV are definitely two good no business-related topics that are worth discussing. With regards to Facebook, it’s important to not get too distracted and manage your time effectively. You can do this by scheduling your posts to appear throughout the day.
