Hello, I am an Internet Marketer in Brisbane and I would love some recommendations on any cafe’s with free wifi to meet clients or do coaching. I work from home and don’t always want to invite people to my house. So instead of the Coffee Club do you have a favourite cafe where you can pull up a chair and sit with your laptop for an hour or two?

One comment on Facebook and that’s it. Wish I could help but I really have never found any cafe’s with working wi-fi in and around Brisbane. I ended up getting my own mobile wi-fi. With up to five devices connected it worked to connect me and any clients when needed and doesn’t restrict where I go.
I know free would be better though. And it’s still slower than a wi-fi from a broadband router.
Hoping you get some suggestions!

Depending on your mobile phone and plan, you may be able to tether your mobile to your laptop, and use your mobile plan. A google search of your mobile should be able to tell you if you can do it and how.

I put these to Yaro Starak (a former contributor and long time friend of Flying Solo) and he advised:
Brew down the laneway in the city has WiFi and is pretty funky.
Hope that helps!

Where in Brisbane are you looking for?
Coffee Guy in Wooloowin is awesome
Nelli Coffee in Redcliffe
Di Bella Coffee in Bowen Hills (I think they even have a conference room you can hire upstairs)
Where the FS Gang meets up at the Botanical Gardens in Toowong is pretty hard to go past tooHope this helps

July 9, 2013 at 1:13 am #1144438Up::063 Racecourse Rd in Hamilton has reliable and reasonably fast WiFi, decent coffee and is open long hours (6am until late at night most days). Gets quite busy around breakfast.
Also as mentioned above, Botanical Cafe where we have our meetups (on this Thursday BTW), have recently installed WiFi as well, although the deck is pretty large and you have to choose your seat wisely to get a decent signal. Very nice spot to sit and work in a semi-outdoor environment (and take a walk around the gardens when you need a break).
If you have young kids and want to let them go nuts while you get some work done on a weekend, Tiddlywinks at Nundah also has free WiFi that’s nice and fast. You have to be VERY good at tuning out background noise to get any work done there though!
Would tend to agree that WiFi is less important now that mobile plans are providing more useful amounts of data, but I still prefer to use WiFi where available rather than my phone if only to save my phone’s battery.
Cheers,
Michael
