My Proudest Small Business Achievement: Nobody’s Business

- November 12, 2019 2 MIN READ

A profile series celebrating your stories of small business success. The moments that set you on a path to a more optimistic future and prove why it’s never been a better time to run a small business.

What’s your business name?

Nobody’s Business: Websites, Design & Creative
I use minimal design and plain english to get your ideas noticed.

When did you start?
I created this little business four months ago after building my skills on the job for the last five years (officially).

Where are you located?
I run my business from my home on the Central Coast, NSW

How many in your team?
Just me!

What’s your proudest business achievement?
Hitting my monthly salary target from my first month of business! Also building my artist website and brand,

What did you do to get there?
I think a healthy mixture of determination, creativity, flexibility and sheer panic!

How did you celebrate the milestone?
I think I just took a moment to trawl through the site I’d just built and pat myself on the back for never giving up on working towards the goal I’ve been working towards since the age of 17: Self-sufficiency through Creative Pursuit.

How has your business changed since then?
I’m at a point now where I’m able to consider the different aspects of what I do and hone them even more. I’m looking to hire my first employee (exciting!) so that I can focus more on design and a little bit less on data entry (marketing data nerds, hit me up!).

What’s your next goal?
To bring in enough income so I can afford to take a month off next year and complete my yoga teacher training. No matter where I am in life or in the world, yoga has proved to be the one thing I absolutely can’t live without. At the beginning of 2019 I resolved to make yoga the ‘non-negotiable part of my week.’ Now I want to make it the ‘non-negotiable part of my life’ – and inspire others to do the same.
