Contrary to popular opinion, it’s not time that rebuilds trust, it is giving a proper apology instead. The moment someone apologises effectively, it’s no longer necessary to be guarded towards them.

The aim of giving an apology is always to restore the relationship with someone you care about and to fix any damage you’ve caused whether it was intentional or not.
