Instagram profile

Instagram is becoming a new search engine for potential customers and clients. Customers are using Instagram to search for products and services and use it as a way to validate the business and products they are potentially buying from or dealing with.

Many people are so concerned about what they are posting they haven’t thought about the truly sexy part of their Instagram, the profile.

Having a profile that:

  1. Clearly tells people in the bio what it is you, your business or organisation does. If you are clear on your business purpose and mission you should be able to in very few words describe what it is you do.
  2. Concisely explains who you serve and how you serve them

Make sure yoou have got your what, in as little words as possible – be clear about who you serve and if possible how you serve them or a call to action.

  1. Consistently conveys your brand. As a business or personal brand you should have a brand that is consistently showing up across your marketing platforms through your images, logo, colours and language you use. This is so you are creating an easily recognisable brand.

Having this is going to help you big time in the long run.

Use your Instagram like your home page

Think of your Instagram profile, as if it were your website home page. It is the above the fold copy of your website. It is the first glance, first shot, first impression you make with someone who lands on your website. You have very limited  time in which you can make a good impression

Above the fold means, that first shot, the first impression you get when you go to someone’s web page. You have limited space in which you can make an impression, so it’s important that you instantly convey what your business does and how you can help your customers in that short above the fold copy.

It also needs to be eye-catching and on-brand.

How does your Instagram profile look?

So if you have a website, when you created your website you probably agonized over the copy, the images, the colours. had multiple people check links, maybe even hired someone to do it for you because it is so important right?  but have you put as much effort into your Instagram profile?

Before you start your next day of batching content (because you do that right?) jump on and check how your profile is looking.

Use this checklist when you do to make sure you are hitting all the points to make your profile perfect.
