    Hi Camera Chick,

If you haven’t found a suitable consultant yet, let me know. Our company works with factories from China quite a bit, being in the textile field. Definitely have a name or two in mind which may be what you’re looking for.

Thanks Woolrest. Would love some names if you dont mind. You can email them to me at [email protected] .

    Thanks

I have not read the article, but can tell you that Australia is way behind the rest of the world as far as internet shopping goes – but I have faith it will get there as its making slow but sure progress. We lived in the US for 4 years and really enjoyed the simplicity of living there which was really being able to access anything – when you wanted it. The big thing for us ( to go completely off track) was cable TV and on demand movies which is just starting here). To not be held hostage with pay tv shows that a reruns from years ago. Bliss.

i think Australian shoppers are more frightened of internet shopping but the trend is gaining more confidence by people especially the rural ones that dont have access to decent shops and products.

i feel , having seen and lived in what we called the future, that if you are not on board early with internet shopping and social media, that you may be left behind.

    Just my 2 cents worth.

No, you can be liable. Australia has one of the world’s toughest consumer protection laws. If you sell consumer products you can be liable regardless of whether you manufacture, import or retail…

hi – as a distributor you are not liable ( as far as I know) and exclusive importation is something you should snap up if you know the company and are happy with both them and their product.

I have an exclusive importation with a company which is working really well for both of us. I have had a few faults in the product and have contacted them and they have fixed it immediately with no issues at all. Mind you, we are not doing anything to do with the body so that call is up to you.

I say dont be stuck, be positive and see it as a brilliant opportunity. If you are talking exclusive, make sure you wrap things up tight for a few years with an escape clause for both of you where you can mutually agree to walk away if it does not work. You will be putting a lot of time and money into promoting them and they will be grateful for it.

Good luck – dont be stuck, lift your leg out of the mud and run with it.

Thankyou so much to everyone that has commented so far. I am quite relieved at your comments. The last time I put my website up for comment, it was very different to these ones. I agree with some of the changes that you have suggested. The bright yellow has been playing on my mind too.

I look forward to dealing with you again in the future should you decide to purchase one of my products.

    Thanks again.

My hat off to you for asking. Its a pretty nerve wrecking post to put up and you are just praying that your pride and joy is not torn to shreds…lol

Glad the yellow has been playing on your mind as well. Go for a light pastel green which will cover all corners and take that glare off the page. Let us know if you make any changes so we can see the before and after :-)
