Hi AKA Group,
Is it a free event? If not, how much is the cost for 1.5 hour online workshop?
Thanks
AnnJanuary 24, 2010 at 3:23 am #1013347Up::0Hi all,
Thank you for the feedback. I’m sorry that I forgot that I started this thread and haven’t replied to you yet.
I did not go ahead with the paid listing at Webwombat. There are other techniques such as writing articles and press releases which can boost up your traffic too. So I’ve been trying out these free methods first.
January 18, 2010 at 9:56 pm #1020205Up::0Nice idea Seb. I think you will get a beta release of the website working in 7 days given that you already had the basic code for an SMS gateway (as you mentioned you worked on it before) and have had lots of experience in building websites.
On the marketing side, you are also on the right track by promoting your ideas and process via a blog and this forum. The idea “Build an online business in 7 days with $500 budget” is also catchy as you already noticed that it attracts a lot of people’s attention.
Good luck and keep us updated.

I agree with Adam, keeping this forum public is probably the best at this stage as the FS adminstrators already decided. Larger forums such as http://forums.digitalpoint.com/ is also available for public with lots of business insights.
December 16, 2009 at 10:53 am #1012965Up::0Hi Glen, so do you use mytel at the back-end for your “Home Office Phone service” offer? Sounds very good, thank pado and KeepitSimpleIT for sharing this tip. I need to set one up at some point next year.
December 2, 2009 at 10:33 am #1002292Up::0Hi everyone,
I’m quite new to this group, so correct me if I’m not right.
I saw this thread has been here so long, would it be a good idea that we start a new thread for each new event that we organise with the title of the thread being the date and venue of the event? Or should we make use of vBulletin Calendar system?
Just from my personal experience, it took me 4 minutes to find out the next event is at James Squire Bar, King St Wharf on Wednesday December 09, at 06:00PM.
Also, I’m looking forward to attending this meetup for the first time
Cheers

I used to live in Melbourne and found the services offered by Business Victoria very helpful. They have an office in the city and you can get many booklets about starting up a business in different industries ranging from restaurants to exports/imports. They run regular workshops about budgetting and finance as well. Worth a visit.

AnnNovember 23, 2009 at 11:30 am #1016698Up::0I personally used the shoping dockets several times, mainly for food . As other people have pointed out, this advertising model works best for retail shops such as a restaurant or a pizza shop which offer special discounts.
I think if you could negotiate with them to sign up a contract for 3-6 months only, it may be worth a try. At least people will be more aware of your brand even though they don’t need to fix their PCs yet, they will remember you when they need to.
June 25, 2009 at 1:48 am #1009543Up::0Sound good Jacki, may I ask how much face-to-face communication is required? i.e how many meetings are needed over the whole period? and whether the meeting venue and time can be flexible (such as meeting in the city after work)?
Thanks
April 17, 2009 at 6:49 am #1006735Up::0An acquaintance of mine has got a collection of comic characters to market his business

I think it’s some how different from other traditional methods.

March 9, 2009 at 4:22 am #1003903Up::0Maybe where to go to to get your website done.
There’re heaps of web design service providers out there, but starters usually look for those that are cheap and offer good quality. So they are often overwhelmed of the information available on the net, or don’t know who to ask.
December 28, 2008 at 12:58 am #1002024Up::0I follow the crowd here, my vote for the second too for clarity.
Just one note though that you may want to change the colors and fonts of 2 lines “Secrets …” and “Australia… ” to make them easier to read.
Well done
December 28, 2008 at 12:54 am #1002330Up::0If you still want to keep 2 menus, you may want to reduce the spacing between each menu item on the top to make them closer to each other, and align them to the right of the page.
Also, you may want to change the color or location of the main menu on the left to make it more stand out. Currently, it quite blends in the image.
Cheers
December 28, 2008 at 12:43 am #1001850Up::0I’d also like to thank to the creators, contributors and audience of this forum. It’s just a great place to meet like-minded people. Great work, keep it up
December 28, 2008 at 12:36 am #1001882Up::0I often have a list of non-work things that I can do if I get bored/tired/stressed in doing work. I stick that list on the wall at my desk so it always there to remind me .
That list has 2 sections: short and long breaks. For short breaks, what I usually do are reading news and gossips (still sitting in front of the computer ), making a drink, cooking and chatting. For long breaks, I would go to a gym class, go shopping, call a friend to go out to the beach or hire a movie …
