I suggest you real all the reviews on Temando first! I just reviewed them yesterday and it seems they have grown so much communication is an issue. There is transdirect, not really good at communication ( so I have found). It’s an ecommerce platform like temando expensive rates unless you do large volumes. There is also baggage freight , small south australian company..

    Definitely good advice…

I am in the tools industry it is tough and competitive and that is for people who know the industry.

Definitely list your products on Ebay as suggested and try it like this first.

If it is a no name brand then you will have to be cheap, if your relatives supply a big name brand then that is a difference ball game.

    What brands do they manufacture?

I think the best ways to get business is thru leaflet drop around your immediate area- remembering that people do not visit their letter box daily like they used to. The conversion rate for this is rather low.
I think a better way is to knock on people doors and introduce yourself, especially if you notice that they are in definite need of your services- i.e. target houses in your area that have particularly dirty driveways. ( that is if you decide this is going to be one of your services)

Gumtree offers a great avenue to target locally. They do have a service provider page and their ads are easy to set up. I would suggest you get some before and after photos so people can see the instant results.
Definitely offer a good deal when you are starting out and offer an incentive for referrals.

Instead of investing in a website initially open a Facebook page- cheap and easy. When you have done a job ask the customer for a before and after photo of the job and post these picture on Facebook. ( only if you have full consent from the paying customer) Instantly people can see how effective your service is and how they would benefit for it.

Your local community paper, if they have a service page.

These are some low cost -but can be quite effective- ways of marketing your business initially.

There are many marketing experts who will give you lots of fantastic advice that may suggest similar ideas or lots of other exciting avenues. You will not be short of ideas, the key to success is executing these ideas and then test and measure the results.

    Good luck.

With the name of the business I would come up with something that relates to your services.

Since I am in Perth who was the guy you thought was good- am looking for a wordpress developer to create a new theme for our website.

Sounds like shopify is the way to go for you.

People are also recommending E Corner but I am not familiar with this.

I have a wordpress/ woo commerce website, eBay store, and listings on Gumtree. We have had a website and eBay store for about 6 years.
Selling on Ebay can be really tricky if you items are heavy and freight is costly- like us.

To get an Ebay store you need get and expert to set this up for you and design a Template. We have had to update our shop template ( pay someone to do this) a few times. Be prepared for Ebay to change rules regularly. Very price driven on Ebay…

We do very well off gumtree aud it is a very easy platform to use. Great exposure, great for local market, free ads and great for rankings.. I love gumtree!

Shopify is great and very popular, and Neto is like the australian version of Shopify but very young. I have had meetings with Shopify experts and spoken to Neto and a few people who have Neto sites. Proprietory systems were not what I wanted to do. Only 2 real shopify experts in our Capital system and no Neto consultants to chat to in person.

I really want to meet my website designer/developers and be able to have lots of control over our website. I felt shopify and Neto did not offer that to us here in Perth. Where WordPress experts are a dime a dozen.

With all of my research and hands on experience with all the above platforms.
I would highly recommend WordPress and Woo commerce. If you are not tech savy find a local web designer/developer to help you. The great thing about wordpress is that finding someone to help you -cheaply- is easy.

    WordPress is great for SEO.

You know what I think would look good. a picture of yourself on the website. If you are marketing yourself ( which you are – Chis Koch you need to put yourself “in the picture”.
As a buyer I would feel more confident with your services if I could see who you were.
    Just a thought!

Matt, I think this is a great idea.
I have had a look at your site and would love to get on board.
Being a small – medium business that is family orientated in the tool industry
we definitely love supporting local business.

I have noticed that you do not have a category for our products.

You need to make the decision as a ‘Business’ decision not a personal one. Send it to the debt collector. Stand strong and firm and inform them that it is a “business decision” not a personal.
Someone wise once said to be ” do it for the sake of the business”..

I would look at this from a different angle- practically.

You say that you have a great relationship with your previous employer and would like to have a future working relationship , then, why would you want to jeopardise that for a few photos. You do not want to make enemies in the industry as they are well established and bigger then you are. If it did get messy for some reason think about what you have to loss!

Really, is it worth it over some photos.

I am sure it won’t take long for you to get some great photos from your new jobs and you will have complete peace of mind that they are your own.

I have taken the time to visit your website and loved your concept, well done and smart thinking.

Just one issue that I found frustrating was the loading speed, the video took way too long to respond. As this is the introduction to your business then you need to get this spot on.

I did also choose some products and again had the same issue.

    Please get this checked.

Your site was easy to navigate, intelligent, informative and constructive.

I love it, expect for the frustrating speed issue.
