Apologies, I could of worded that better. Try this: The general population don’t “care” for predictions which is probably why their efforts are never shown in the news. They are not newsworthy. That said, if you can land a cushy Astrology number in a popular womens mag or a column wedged between the obituaries and car sales in your local rag you’d be set. Then again that’s not a publicity stunt, it’s a job.

I think unless you are someone who is already of public interest such as Michael Jackson, the stunt will be as important (if not more) than the delivery itself.
With all that MJ has done throughout his vast career, dangling a baby off a building is probably his most publicised move. You or I do this and we end up with a police bullet in our leg and 5 years prison.
With the advancement of advertising practices and everyday peoples ability to shock and cause controversy then deliver it to the world from their homes, you need to be doing something pretty big. People are immuned to most things nowadays, not alot shocks which makes a publiciy stunt harder to do. Sure you can do one, but the effects are nothing like they would of been even 10 years ago.
And noone believes predictions, for it were real you would simply purchase next weeks lottery numbers and there would be no need for this thread.
The stunt itself is super important. Do something new, do something BIG and your grandmother could deliver it with great effect.

Purely from the inadequacy of funds offered and blatant distaste they will refuse the offer.
Hire a PR company to ring all national radio, television and papers to enquire as to the ‘rumour’ of some eccentric magician named Welzman offering the city of Sydney millions of dollars to place a giant magicians hat on the Opera House.
These agencies will pretty much be forced to investigate and on confirmation from the Council will report your crazy gesture.Bingo!

That’s quite a resume, congrats. I’m sure you’re aware that even if there wasn’t a current market for these services (I’m sure there is) it would only be a matter of convincing punters that they need you and bingo, a market.
Forever competent marketers have been selling us products and services we could probably do without so if there is an legitimate requirement for these services, it should be a piece of cake.

Hmm, though I can appreciate the work that has gone into this promo, with all due respect I found it completely lacking and boring. Had I happened to just stumble upon this I doubt I would of even lasted the halfway mark.
I didn’t really get an understanding of what you do, I didn’t really walk away from it with a “I must keep them in mind” attitude and I didn’t get any excitement value from it.Two days ago I was sent a the new promo vid for the September release of Disturbia Clothing in the UK. Although an entirely different market from the one your business is chasing and a fairly subjective product line (not everyones cup of tea).

Disturbia managed to tick all the ‘promo vid’ boxes in my mind. If you dissect their short clip and it’s references and feel to their new release focus it becomes clear they have nailed it. And, I know for a fact it was done on a shoestring.
You need to nail down a lasting message and feel that you want your prospective clients to walk away with and build a promo around that. (Maybe you have?)
I think you could relay your message a little better. Maybe a fraction more awesomesauce is required?

Upcoming sales/specials, past comp. winners, blog entires, latest products etc.I can generally be bothered looking around if the owner can be bothered.

Personally I think this is a bad idea.
If I were you I would send them a detailed invoice for the REAL cost of work done. Don’t offer a discount to get closer to their price or even match it or they will walk over you everytime from here on in.
If there is leway in your price to offer a discount, don’t give it to them yet (and be reasonable to yourself/your work if you need to offer one). Wait until they respond to your REAL cost invoice.

I have on a number of occasions seen threads replied to after months for legitimate reasons.
New members join and feel they have something to offer an older discussion or find themselves in a similar position to that of the original issue/question and require further clarification.
Locked threads would only invite multiple new threads duplicating former discussion where the latest thread starter would be (kindly) told to use the search function as there are many threads the same already. They get there and they’re all locked.
Vicious cycle.I actually think there is nothing worse than being on a forum where you feel you can offer something to an older discussion only to find it has been locked.
Blatant self promotion should be reported as spam in any instance in my opinion. Old or current threads.

I think your logo needs to have your business name incorporated into the design. Unless you have the marketing budget of a Nike or McDonalds, a standalone icon will be hard work. As a consumer, I’m more likely to remember the name of your business than what your icon looks like. If (dare I say it) I were to look for your number in a phone book, it would be your business name not your icon I am looking for.
Attached is a few examples of icon (circled in red) with business name (in blue).
Your icon (in my opinion) is very nice but as a logo, it’s halfway there.

I agree with John that as a logo (in it’s current form) it requires addition to make the relationship between consumers and your business, but I think it’s a great start.As far as image quality goes, I’m sure someone like KarenC can help you out with vectorising/etc. it so it’s print/web ready, no probs there.
Totally feeling the organic nature of it.
