storewall replied to the topic How to charge for shipping when shipping fees depend on multiple variables in the forum Logistics 1 year, 7 months ago
Yep shipping is super hard. I have a tiered system based on the value of the order, if they are regional or metro and if the size of the item is considered bulky. I also subsidise the shipping costs to make it cheaper for customers. I do this because I don’t discount and I seldom run sales.
What this means is that for the smaller/medium sized…[Read more]

storewall replied to the topic How do you manage all your invoices? in the forum Money matters 1 year, 10 months ago
I just transitioned from a spreadsheet to Xero. I actually still use both at least until this FY ends. Xero is great and there are lots of instructions in the system but as an online business with a separate shopping cart to process sales, everything is very manual going into Xero. In fact every system I tested was very much the same. Xero…[Read more]

storewall replied to the topic Courier dispatch from drop off location in the forum Logistics 1 year, 11 months ago
Many courier services have drop off options at their depot, some also have local drop off locations (newsagencies etc). Sometimes depots are close to airports so they are not local enough to work for everyone. How fragile is your product? Shipping your product one at a time via sea could leave you with an ugly package? Airfreight would be better but expensive.

I have been emailed and called re this pre-registration as well. I am planning on buying but will probably just redirect it to com.au. I have also found some varying pricing amongst those that sell the domains.

storewall replied to the topic Is the impossible possible? in the forum Money matters 2 years, 1 month ago

I also have a business transaction account with CBA and pop-ups appear regarding a business CC. I suppose it would be the same as the line…[Read more]

storewall replied to the topic First time import from china in the forum Logistics 2 years, 5 months ago
Whatever you choose to do, someone will need to manage the local part when the goods arrive here, ie organise GST, Import Duties, Clearance Fees, freight to your location. A broker may also be able to price the actual freight from China to AU for you. It might be cheaper to do it with local broker rather than your supplier doing it for you.
