What do you mean? If you actually reply I already love you 50x more than the people who just instead ghost my follow up call/emails.
If you actually give a reason (price, product, time, other?) even better.
Eg if you say “thanks but one of the directors decided to use his cousin…” then I know not to bother you again.
If you say “we love it…[Read more] -

Did you ever find one? Square & stripe do a little but they’re not ideal.

Renting software is definitely like something hanging over your head each month. The worst ones are things like bookkeeping software, as you can’t just stop even if they up prices.
For adobe there are lots of alternatives, so it’s hard to say if it’s worth for you or not.

I don’t know where people are seeing your web url, but “affordable designer fine jewellery brand” is not a niche. It sounds like you’re trying to be everything to everyone, which is the hardest market to be.
Either be the best quality luxury, or be the cheapest good-enough. Don’t fight the middle. Top end won’t look at your stuff, bottom end will…[Read more] -

2 months of lockdowns later, we may or may not be able to run this in Sep.
What do you think? If we came out of lockdown Aug 30, would people want to exit their homes mid Sep?
Or should we make it online? -

Unless a trinket is valuable it’s a waste of your $. (ie worth at least $30+ and something I wanted to buy anyway – not yet another branded usb key that breaks after 3mths)
Think about what makes a memorable event. What will remind them of how it felt, 6 mths on? What will attract new clients the next year? It’s the marketing, branding,…[Read more]

I suggest once you get serious, move to wordpress where you’ll find a huge community who can point you to plugins that do exactly what you need. It’s the largest platform in the world.

valentlau replied to the topic Do you consider building a website or use social media? in the forum Tech talk 2 years, 9 months ago
It depends on the type of business. A website is so so cheap, to not invest in one says something about you. Either you’re so busy you don’t need new work, you’re brand new, or you’re not serious. Only ppl I know who are serious and have no site are subcontractors like tradies.

valentlau replied to the topic Is my business really a business? in the forum Starting your journey 2 years, 9 months ago
A hobby is dancing with friends. To start a dance class is surely a business in ATO’s eyes. You can make a loss and be a business. You don’t necessarily need all the structure things, but to keep out of trouble you need to declare.

You really need an accountant that understands you for this. Whether you do tax returns really is not dependent on if you’re a pty or not.
