Calling all copywriters and content creators! Reconnect in real life at CopyCon 2022.
When you’re flying solo and using your words to make a living, life can be lonely. Tucked away in your writing cave at home, tapping away on that keyboard, waiting for inspiration to strike.
But good news, people!
CopyCon, Australia’s only dedicated conference for copywriters and content creators, is returning in 2022.
It’s your chance to connect with fellow writers from across the country, hear from inspirational speakers, learn amazing business skills, develop as a professional, and enjoy the kind of belly laughs your soul’s been missing after two years of pandemic-induced isolation.
With bean bags, massages and hula hooping, this is NOT your average business event.
Taking place 14 & 15 October at The Kirribilli Club in Sydney, CopyCon 2022 will include a Mastermind intensive on Friday 14 October, and then a full conference day on Saturday 15 October.
From client management and content marketing, to multicultural copywriting, health copywriting, SEO, personal branding and conquering imposter syndrome, CopyCon is overflowing with quality content. No fluff. No filler.
This year Kate Toon, founder of The Clever Copywriting School and CopyCon, will be MCing the event herself. A word beast at heart, Kate’s an award-winning SEO copywriter and SEO consultant with more than two decades in advertising and digital. While others talk the talk, Kate has walked the walk:
“After having to press pause on CopyCon for a few years, we’re so excited to be bringing our amazing community of copywriters and content creators together under one roof again. CopyCon is not just about the inspiring speakers, it’s also about the powerful connections you make, and the creative ideas and collaborations which emerge after each event.
“It’s a real celebration – with amazing catering throughout the event, and a chance to let your hair down at the conference party on Saturday night. Bring on October!” says Kate.
Sessions will include:
- Raise the curtain on your X Factor – Samantha Leith.
- Show your work: The pedantic yet essential art of fact-checking – Jonathan Crossfield.
- Creative copywriting for social media ads that convert – Andrew Hubbard.
- What happens to your content once it goes live – Vahe Arabian.
- Every cent I’ve ever earned – Kate Merryweather.
- What being an in-house copywriter taught me about freelancing – Lisa O’Sullivan.
- How to be a brave, healthy copywriter – Panel event.
- Overcoming the imposter syndrome – Christine Corcoran.
Rashida Tayabali will be presenting on being a multicultural copywriter – ‘a sundae, not plain vanilla’:
“I’ve attended almost every CopyCon and have thoroughly enjoyed meeting my copywriting peers and learning from industry experts. I’m so looking forward to sharing the stage with other talented individuals in 2022, and sharing my perspective and experience on why multiculturalism is great for business. CopyCon tops my list for favourite writing events of all time, and to share the stage with Kate Toon who I admire deeply, well, I’m going to be thrilled for years to come!”
CopyCon is ideal for freelance and in-house copywriters, freelance writers, content creators, marketing managers and digital marketing professionals.
