What is the name of your business?

Harpermartin

What is your website? Instagram and Facebook too please.

When did you start your small biz?

In 2017

Why did you start it?

Because I believe there is a real need for my self published books for bereaved parents and children (Remembering Me Series). And I know through my own personal story how important the Cherish book would be to children and family who are soon to have a parent or loved one die.

Is it the only biz of its kind in your area?

There is ‘A lasting Tale’ which is similar to Cherish but it focuses more on audio stories while mine focuses on the handwritten word.

What do you love most about living where you live?

I love the country, I love the friendliness of the people and I think it is a great place to bring up our children. The wide open spaces, the fresh air and the community spirit.

How would you describe your client base?

Parents and children whose child has died due to miscarriage, stillbirth, sids or in their first years of life. The Cherish book is more aimed at parents or grandparents who are aging or losing their battle to a disease (or the families that are supporting them during this time).

Who/what do you consider your biggest competitor?

There are quite a few products on the market that are aimed at people in this situation, jewellery, other keepsake books etc.

How do most of your clients find you?

Website, word of mouth, Facebook groups

Do you have a local chamber of commerce in your area?

Yes

What do you think is the greatest challenge your community/area/district faces right now?

For us drought!!!

Who is your greatest support?

My husband and family

What’s your biggest goal for the next 5 years?

To get sponsors on board so I can donate so many more of my books to hospitals and organisations all over the world.

What is your biggest challenge in terms of growing your business?

People understanding why the need for these books is so important and how much they could help them or their loved ones in the long term.

If there was one thing you could to make the biggest change to your business what would it be?

Get the world knowing about my books and how important and special they are. Media coverage and real life stories regards the impact of the books.

What/where is your favourite place in your town and why?

The well kept street of Coolamon because it is a beautiful town that is so welcoming when you drive into it.
