What is Westpac’s Genie?
The Genie card reader lets you take card payments anywhere, anytime. It’s easy to use, secure, reliable and small enough to add it to your belt or pop it in your pocket.
On top of taking payments, the Genie App enables you to track sales and manage invoices from your mobile. It works with Android™ and iPhone, and you can also access Genie from your desktop via the secure web portal.
How does it work?

What are the key features?
It includes everything you need to take payments, provide invoices, list your products/services and provide receipts.
With Genie, you can set up items and track sales on the one app. You can process payments for multiple items in a single sale, choose from popular items or enter a price, track all all of your sales whether your customers pay by cash or card, and send receipts at the point of sale.
Create and send invoices:
In just a few taps you can create and send personalised invoices to your customers. You can also easily track overdue invoices and total amounts owing, chase payments and see your communications with your customer.
List your products and services:
It’s easy to set up listings for your most popular products and services including images, descriptions and pricing with or without GST. Items will sync across your devices for centralised access from anywhere to keep track of sales.
Send receipts track takings:
As you make a sale, you can email a receipt to your customer straight away. You can also see a summary of your takings by day, week and month, and view itemised breakdowns of your transactions.
How much does it cost?
Because every business is different, Westpac’s Genie is available in different pricing options to suit your needs.
Starting from $25 per month, Genie’s monthly plans1 are designed to put the tools you need to take card payments into one simple solution at a predictable monthly cost. Our monthly plans don’t include any lock in contracts2, making it easier for you to move between plans.
Pay As You Go (PAYG)
If your card turnover fluctuates month to month, you can choose to only be charged for the payments you process. This option is designed to give you confidence and flexibility when managing your expenses – particularly handy if you’re just starting out.
What’s the next step?
With Westpac’s Genie, you can get up and running quickly. Generally, it takes less than 5 business days to receive your card reader, and you’ll be able to send invoices as soon as your facility is approved.
